How are you setting your company up to have an inviting online presence?
Here are some helpful tips to entice and attract the best talent to work for you:
Glassdoor: This is a great place for others to get good information on your culture, work style and other things that would be intriguing. If you get a bad review, don’t panic… just make sure you can dilute it with other positive reviews. If someone who is interested in your company looks on Glassdoor and sees a lot of unhappy employees, it will likely scare them away. Happy employees will be more than willing to write positive reviews to help their company grow.
Google: Everyone googles, so make sure when people search for your company, the local listings show positive reviews or some information that drives a positive thought towards your brand. Get previous and current employees and clients to start writing google reviews. It goes along way for you. Local Search results can bring in a ton of traffic with local job applications and companies looking to hire. Build out your Google Local page to its fullest extent!
Yelp: If you or your competitors are on Yelp, read your competitors reviews and consider this a gift. Do your research to figure out what your prospects like and don’t like. If you get a negative review, use it as a process improvement opportunity. If you know someone had a particularly great experience, ask for a review. You can post a sign to prompt a review or place it on your company website. Not every customer will give you a review, but you will get more by asking.
Website: Invest in your website. Make it easy to navigate, intriguing and make sure you include your ask and a careers page; whether it is to sign up for a free trial, job alerts, become a user, subscribe….Top talent will always look at your website before an interview and if looks like it has not been updated in 10 years or they are unable to get a clear message on what you are doing that could be a red flag.
When your online presence is positive, inviting; potential employee & consumer friendly , you will not only attract top notch talent, but you will have less people ghost you on interviews, and set you up for a greater presence online for your consumer/client or hiring efforts.
